Purchase
First things first, I am a single person shop and I know how to build and order parts for the amps I sell. I do not know about the intricacies of shipping, insuring, dealing with import fees, taxes, permits, tariffs and such. It just doesn’t fit in my wheelhouse. Also, because of the weight of the transformers and being a small company, I don’t have the volume required to get deals on shipping around the world. I believe, one would be better served to find a builder in their own economy.
Maybe when Lain Audio’s more successful and I can hire an office manager to take care of those activities… maybe. Till that time arrives, the following rules will hold:
- I do not sell or ship to addresses outside the 48 contiguous United States.
- I do not sell or ship to addresses in Canada, Mexico, the EU (Europe), Asia, Oceania, Central or South America.
With that out of the way, let’s purchase this thing…
How to purchase
When you have decided to purchase the Model One, go to the Contact/Contact tab and fill out the form per the instructions to connect with me. Be sure to add your phone number in the Phone field, and also a good time to call you in the Other details field. I always like to talk with prospective customers to answer their questions about the amp and particulars regarding the purchase/shipping process.
After we have talked, I will put together a purchase agreement based on the information you have provided and we’ve discussed. I will send it to you at the email address you have given in the initial contact form; for your approval.
Sending an acceptable payment
Once you have received my email with the initial purchase agreement, and you are satisfied with it; use the instructions I’ve enclosed as to where to send the payment and the best way to remit the payment.
The only acceptable forms of payment is with a money order or a cashier’s check drawn on a US based bank or Credit Union. I do not accept credit cards, electronic payments or cash.
The best method to insure a prompt and reliable delivery of your payment is to send it to me by USPS Priority Mail. The ‘flat rate envelope’ insures your security with a tracking number, as well as for a prompt and reliable delivery.
Do not use registered mail or certified mail as both methods require signatures to receive and seem to create more problems than they solve.
When I receive your cashier’s check or money order I will send you an email to confirm receipt of payment. Once the payment clears the bank, I will send an invoice marked ‘Paid’, also by email. If the amplifier we agreed upon in the initial invoice is ready for shipping, then it will be shipped immediately and you will receive an email from me telling you that this has occurred; as well as one from UPS with your tracking number.
If your amp is not built or is scheduled to be built, then you will be added to the queue for amplifier builds and an email informing you of your queue status will be sent.
Queue Status
After your payment has been received and you have been informed of your queue status, no more emails will be sent until one (1) week before I am ready to ship your amp. This will provide notification of the shipments pending arrival and prepare you with an approximate arrival date. If you are not going to be around during that period you can request me, by email, to hold your shipment till a specified date that you provide.
When your amplifier has shipped I will send you an email, to that effect, as well as UPS will email your tracking number. Once your amp has arrived consult the Shipping tab in the Footer on how to receive your UPS shipment.
Unsuccessful communications
Prior to you sending me any funds during the initial phase of the discussion-purchasing process, if I’m not able to connect with you by the phone number or the email address you provided, I will cease to communicate with you. Period.
If my email to you with the initial purchase agreement is bounced by the email servers, as undeliverable, I will attempt to call you at the phone number you left on the contact form. If I am unsuccessful in connecting with you via telephone I will wait 48 hours for you to somehow contact me. If there is no communication at that point, I will consider the purchase agreement null and void and stop communicating with you. Period.
