At Lain Audio, every amplifier and preamplifier is built with a simple philosophy: Respect proven classic designs while applying disciplined engineering, meticulous workmanship, and comprehensive testing.

Vacuum tube audio has earned its reputation over decades because great designs endure. The Dynaco ST-35, ST-70, and PAS-3 remain among the most respected components ever created, and for good reason. Their musical performance continues to inspire listeners around the world.

Rather than reinventing these classics, Lain Audio focuses on building them to an exceptionally high standard using carefully selected modern components, precise assembly techniques, thorough inspection, and individual performance verification.

Every unit is assembled by hand at my workbench—not on a production line. Every solder joint, every wiring path, every mechanical assembly, and every electrical measurement receives personal attention before an amplifier leaves my shop.

More Than Assembly

Anyone can purchase a kit. Building a reliable, quiet, long-lasting vacuum tube amplifier requires experience, patience, and careful verification.

Every amplifier and preamplifier built by Lain Audio undergoes a systematic inspection and testing process before shipment. Operating voltages are verified, performance is measured, and the completed unit is evaluated to ensure it meets the standards I would expect in my own listening room.

Each completed component is supplied with an individual test report documenting its measured performance.

Built by an Engineer

After a career as an electrical engineer, I returned to one of my lifelong interests: vacuum tube audio; and that engineering background shapes every aspect of my work.

Rather than relying on subjective claims, I believe customers deserve objective information. Careful measurements, repeatable procedures, and documented results provide confidence that every component performs as intended.

My goal is simple: Build equipment I would be proud to own.
